Our story
What’s the story behind Royal Himalayan Kittens?
How did you get started breeding these adorable kittens?
Our journey with Himalayan cats began as a family dream. When we first decided to bring a cat into our home, we weren’t sure which breed to choose. At a cat show, surrounded by many different breeds, one Himalayan kitten completely captured our hearts with her deep blue eyes and stunning beauty. We knew right away that she was meant for us, and we named her Rusya.
Rusya came with full documents and breeding rights, and she later gave birth to three beautiful kittens. However, due to the challenges of the Himalayan breed, she was never able to have more litters. One of her kittens, a male named Jackson, stayed with us — and he became the true foundation of our cattery. Recognized for his exceptional quality and pure pedigree, Jackson was welcomed into a breeding club, where experts advised us not to neuter him because of his uniqueness.
From that moment, Royal Himalayan Kittens was born. What started with the love for one extraordinary cat grew into a small, family-based cattery dedicated to raising healthy, affectionate, and purebred Himalayan kittens who continue to bring joy to families, just as Rusya and Jackson brought joy to ours.
Jackson – The Beginning of Our Legacy
Jackson was the true foundation of Royal Himalayan Kittens. His uniqueness lay in his rare genetic ability: when paired with long-haired Himalayan females, he consistently produced beautiful long-haired Himalayan kittens. Yet when bred with Exotic Shorthairs, his litters would always be short-haired Exotics. This remarkable trait is believed to exist in only about 5% of all Himalayan-line cats — and Jackson was one of those rare few.
Jackson lived a full and happy 13 years, travelling often with his family and earning many awards along the way. Unlike many unneutered males, he never caused trouble or marked his territory — instead, he was gentle, well-behaved, and deeply loved by everyone who knew him. He left behind generations of beautiful, healthy kittens who continue to bring joy to families today.
We miss him dearly and will always remember him with love. Jackson was not only an extraordinary cat but also the one who started our breeding journey — the heart and soul of our cattery’s story.

What are the most important things people should know about your breeding process and the care you give to your kittens?
The most important thing to know is that our kittens are never kept in cages. While many breeders confine their cats, we believe that the environment in which kittens are raised shapes their future personalities. A kitten raised in a cage can become fearful, withdrawn, and resistant to being held. At Royal Himalayan Kittens, our cats and kittens grow up freely in a loving family home, surrounded by care, play, and daily socialization. This approach ensures that they are affectionate, well-adjusted, and ready to share love with their new families.
Another cornerstone of our breeding philosophy is the purity of the Himalayan breed. We never mix our cats with other breeds. This is crucial because crossbreeding can negatively affect long-term health and compromise the unique qualities of Himalayans. We take breeding very seriously and responsibly: our cats come from fully documented pedigrees with complete genetic history, allowing us to ensure both health and authenticity for every generation.
